The EDC: Partnering to Provide a One-Stop Shop for Busnesses

The Clay County Economic Development Council and its affiliate Midwest Small Business Finance have jointly published information outlining their unique collaboration that provides expanded services for existing and potential businesses.

The “One-Stop Shop” concept for businesses is an important feature of EDC and MSBF services. Businesses wanting to locate in Clay County or existing businesses wishing to expand have access to inside information on regulations and codes, workforce and demographic statistics and projections, training programs and financing—including low interest small business financing through Midwest Small Business Finance.

“The EDC is one of the few economic development agencies in the country that combines the power of an EDC with SBA loans,” explained Executive Director Jim Hampton. “That means we have strategic advantages that make this such a great place to build and grow your business.”

The four-page brochure includes an outline of the organizations’ services, including an overview of MSBF/SBA loan programs and how they can help small businesses in this area. A special feature includes the EDC’s Strategic Planning Initiative and its drive to create a world-class business environment.
