Info Exchange To Tour New Northland High School The new, state-of-the-art Staley High School will be the site and focus of the Aug. 6 Information Exchange sponsored by the Clay County Economic Development Council. The school will be open for a tour led by Clark Mershon, principal of the new North Kansas City School District high school. Located at 2800 N.E. Shoal Creek Parkway, Kansas City, the campus features a 314, 000 square-foot school on 80 acres. Built according to U.S. Green Building Council certification standards, the school is surrounded by a 48- acre "green space" three ponds and two streams. It also features a 750- seat auditorium and a "flex" theater. Nearby is a new District Activity Complex on 64 acres, featuring a varsity soccer stadium and football stadium seating 6,000 spectators.
The Clay County Economic Development Council’s fifth annual Golf Invitational will be Monday, Aug. 11, at the Liberty Hills golf Course. Limited to 120 golfers, the event will begin at 10:30 a.m. with registration and an 11 a.m. box lunch. The shotgun start will be at noon. The awards presentation and dinner will be at 4:30 p.m. Sponsorships are still available. Proceeds from the tournament will support the cost of the keynote speaker at the EDC Annual Dinner.
