Cerner Corporation is planning a major expansion at its North Kansas City world headquarters.
Cerner Corporation is in the midst of planning and approval for a major expansion to its world headquarters in North Kansas City.
Cerner plans to expand the headquarters’ campus by constructing a $35 million "Demonstration Center" that would be a four-story, 125,000-square-foot building.
The healthcare software giant has requested a Chapter 100 property tax abatement, which means 100 percent of the real estate taxes will be abated for 15 years. Construction on the project is expected to begin later this year, with completion expected in 2018.
In addition to the new building, the plan calls for the removal of an existing parking lot on Rockcreek Parkway, which will become the project site.
