Following the successful footsteps of the iWerx co-working space in North Kansas City, designWerx has been launched to provide the same level of business incubation but with a focus on businesses in hands-on efforts like woodworking, metal works and painting.
Opened early in February, the designWerx at 1313 Atlantic St. has already been featured in the online magazine, Startlandnews. An in-depth feature by Tommy Felts (http://www.startlandnews.com/2018/02/designwerx-makers-north-kansas-city/) noted the 16,000-square-foot designWerx offers large production and showroom capacity, as well as networking and support from like-minded creators. Four businesses are already located in the facility.
Bob Martin, co-founder of iWerx, noted in the article that viable startups with ongoing clients are a primary focus for the service, a sector similar to that drawn by iWerx. He expected the building to reach its capacity of 10 businesses by the end of March.
