More Clay County Center Resurgence Draws Attention

April 2017

While Antioch Crossing, Metro North Crossing and Liberty Commons are three large centers earning recognition for significant redevelopment, a smaller center is also moving up.

Kansas City Star writer Joyce Smith recently focused on efforts to restore the old Country Club Shops at 3508 N.E. Vivion Road, a block east of North Indiana. Partners Charles Cuda and JoMarie Guastello purchased the largely empty center and are now working to open with new businesses in June. According to Smith’s article, the new shops will include:

  • Pet-Topia, a locally owned full-line pet store in part of the former Apple Market.
  • Vivion Liquor Superstore.
  • Cupcakes Unlimited, a new locally owned cupcake shop.

The partners are also reported to be negotiating with a Chinese restaurant, leaving three spots still available.

A summer opening is planned. Read the full article here.
