Clay County Developments Honored with Capstone Awards
The recent Capstone Awards presented by the Kansas City Business Journal honored two Clay County projects.
The Excelsior Springs Community Center earned top honors for architectural design while the Northland Innovation Campus in Gladstone was the leader for community impact.
The awards were presented March 23 at a dinner event in Kansas City. A five-judge panel selected a total of 34 honorees from a record 108 nominations.
The Excelsior Springs Community Center was honored for a creative design that is both original and striking. The $15.3-million facility includes a gymnasium, indoor aquatics, racquetball courts, party rooms, a dance studio and many other amenities.
The $20-million Innovation Campus houses North Kansas City School programs, the Northland CAPS program and programs for higher education.
