Next Strategic Planning Session Set for June 26

May 2019

Clay County residents helped create the original Strategic Initiative in 2013 at meetings like this one. A five-year update will be completed with a meeting June 26.

The third and final community meeting to update the EDC’s Strategic Initiative will be Wednesday, June 26 at iWerx in North Kansas City beginning at 3:30 p.m.

With the topic of entrepreneurism, the June event will feature speakers to be announced and dialog among participants. A key focus will be the continued improvement of Clay County’s environment to nurture startups and small businesses, a major source of job growth throughout the country.

The first session was held March 28 in Gladstone with a focus on creative solutions for workforce issues. The second was held April 25 at William Jewell College with a focus on education.

Created in 2013, the EDC’s Strategic Initiative established a series of goals for job creation and new businesses that were quickly met by the fast-growing county. The five-year update is intended to establish new goals and reaffirm existing targets.

iWerx in North Kansas City is located at 1520 Clay Street. For more information, call (816) 468-4989 or email
