Free Small Business Bootcamp Set for Sept. 15

August 2017

Vendor booths like this one from a previous Bootcamp, an in-depth keynote address and outstanding breakout sessions will be among the highlights of the next Small Business Bootcamp Sept. 15.

The Clay County Economic Development Council and Mid-Continent Public Library will host a Small Business Bootcamp on Sept. 15 at 8:30 a.m. at the Woodneath Library Center, 8900 Flintlock Road, Kansas City.

The event will focus on helping local entrepreneurs market and advertise their small business. At 9 a.m., there will be a keynote speech, followed by expert-led breakout sessions, networking and a resource fair of numerous organizations that aid small businesses.

“The bootcamp is a great place for aspiring entrepreneurs to get started, whether it’s by making new connections, learning new skills or finding the right resources to launch their business,” said Hanna Taylor, business specialist at Mid-Continent Public Library.

Attendees will be able to choose between the following breakout sessions:

  • Creating Your Brand
  • Non-Traditional Advertising
  • Online Sales
  • Finding Your Customer
  • Building a Marketing Plan
  • The Marriage of Online & Traditional Advertising

Registration for this event is free and required. For more information or to register, visit mymcpl.org/squareone. This program is funded by a grant from the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation.
