Area Executives Get Boost in Leadership Skills

Sixteen area executives became the latest graduates of the Doniphan Leadership Institute.

Due to one of this winter’s snowstorms, the February graduation ceremony was cancelled, but the new “Doniphan Fellows” still earned credit for the six-month program that began in September.

The new Doniphan Fellows included staff members of major area hospitals, utility companies, city governments and several private companies. Now completing its 12th year, the institute is cosponsored by the Pryor Center at the college and the Clay County Economic Development Council.

The complete list of new Doniphan Fellows is Andy Alexander, manager, Central Design for Kansas City Power & Light; Bob Baer, Assistant City Manager for the City of Gladstone; Leslie Bruns-Lamb, clinical manager for Liberty Hospital; Donna Craig, Marina Specialist III for Clay County Parks; Cody Croan, procedures coordinator for Mid-Continent Public Library; Deborah Cross, parks specialist for Clay County Parks; Melissa Evans, administrative assistant for the Clay County Sheriff’s Department; Amber Hall, manager of distribution for Liberty Hospital; David Heston, director of Biomed/CTS for North Kansas City Hospital; Jarod Hilliard, Field Manager for Certified Radon; Landon Jones, Campus Safety Director for William Jewell College; Wyatt Kovich, Systems Engineer for Haldex; Seth Moses; Branch Manager at the Colbern Road Branch, Mid-Continent Public Library; Stacey Ploth, Nurse Manager for Liberty Hospital; Tara Smyth, Manager of Philanthropic Signature Events for Children's Mercy Hospital; and Yuvonise Thurmond, Web Team Supervisor for Kansas City Power & Light.
