Registration Open for Look North Award Luncheon Oct. 24
The 51th annual Look North Award Ceremony will be held at Harrah's North Kansas City Hotel and Casino, 1 Rivertboat Drive, North Kansas City, beginning at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24.
Speakers will be Missouri Governor Mike Parson and U.S. Congressman Emanuel Cleaver II.
The Look North Award recognizes the outstanding leadership accomplishments of a person who has made an invaluable contribution to economic development and quality of life in Clay County.

Parson was sworn in as Missouri’s 57th Governor on June 1, following over 30 years of experience in public service. Before serving as the 47th Lieutenant Governor of Missouri, he previously represented the 28th Senatorial District in the Missouri Senate and in the Missouri House of Representatives from 2005-2011. Governor Parson also served as the Sheriff of Polk County from 1993-2005 and served six years in the U.S. Army before that.
Congressman Cleaver represents Missouri's 5th congressional district, where he's served since 2005. Cleaver is a member of the Democratic Party and in January 2010 became chair of the Congressional Black Caucus. A United Methodist pastor, Cleaver previously served on the Kansas City Council from 1979 to 1991, until he was elected Mayor and served from 1991 to 1999.
