EDC member Northpoint Development continues to spread its wings.
For Clay County, a significant announcement came recently with the company’s decision to move its headquarters from Riverside to the former Cerner training campus on North Oak Trafficway, just up the hill from North Kansas City. The larger facility, originally headquarters for Farmland Industries, offers needed room for Northpoint to grow.
While the firm is widely known for numerous developments in Clay County and throughout Greater Kansas City, the company is increasingly developing projects from Wisconsin to Tennessee. Though not yet 10 years old, Northpoint recently launched a $45 million spec industrial project in Kenosha, Wisc., while converting several former malls into industrial projects nationwide, including a recent effort in St. Louis.
Launched in 2012, Northpoint Development operates nine properties in Northland Park and two newer buildings in the Liberty Commerce development. Company projects also sit near its current Riverside headquarters and throughout Greater Kansas City. Today, the company is reportedly the nation’s top industrial developer in terms of square footage built since 2015.
