The Clay County EDC will hold a transportation summit in the Yates-Gill Union 221-222 on the campus of William Jewell College in Liberty for Monday, Nov. 22, from 2-3 p.m.
Congressman Sam Graves has agreed to attend the event. Missouri Department of Transportation Director Patrick McKenna has tentatively signed up and, if he cannot attend, he will make sure MoDOT is well-represented.
The initial plans feature a panel discussion with federal, state and local officials to explain what the Northland should do to take advantage of a potential federal infrastructure bill along with the increase in the Missouri fuel tax.
The Clay County EDC, the Northland Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Platte County EDC have been meeting with transportation leaders to prioritize projects in the Northland. Congressman Graves is the Ranking Member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee.
