Your EDC’s “587” project will be presented and it is our hope that it will become a premier work environment as well as a destination location bringing tourists to Clay County where they will take trips to our many other attractions during their stay.
Dave Mecklenburg, a Kansas City Parks Board member since June of 2011, was replaced last week. Also a member of your EDC, Mecklenburg advocated for strong parks across the entire city. He will now be able to focus on making the Clay County parks the best in the metro as the Chair of the County Parks Board.
On October 28th, 2021 at 10:00 AM, the Division of Employment Security will be hosting a virtual event for employers who are interested in Missouri’s Shared Work program or already using the program and want to learn more. The virtual event will feature discussion and demonstration of how employers can easily navigate the UInteract system. You can save a seat for it here.
Clay County State Senator Lauren Arthur wants to make sure everyone eligible for Medicaid expansion knows how and where to apply for the voter-approved assistance. Please spread the word that there are four options: Apply through the online portal, apply by phone at 855-373-9994, complete an application (aplicación Español) on your computer or download & print application (aplicación Español).
Northland CAPS is organizing an interview session for their student associates for Monday, November 15th. They will be rotating students through interviewers with 10-minute sessions and three rotations. This event will be hosted at Harrah’s -Voodoo Lounge – 1 Riverboat Drive – North Kansas City, MO. They hope that through this experience we will help their student associates to be better prepared for their internship interviews that will be in December. They will be having two sessions – AM from 7:30 am – 9:30 am and PM from 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm If you would be available and willing to assist, please click on the link that works best for you to sign up.

More classes begin November 10th with Small Biz Support Group—Reading Rainbow Edition, Create Your Customer Avatarand Business Model Canvas Workshop and Veterans Entrepreneurship Celebration on November 11th.

For the next few weeks the redistricting committee for Kanas City will be meeting on Wednesday afternoons from 4-6PM on the 10th floor of City Hall. The meetings will also be broadcast on channel 2. Northland representation on the Kansas City Council has a huge impact on our county and your EDC has been and will continue to be involved.
