The Liberty City Council recently approved the rezoning and preliminary plan for the Garrison Industrial project.
This 170,000 sq. ft. building will be on Highway 69, south of the Pleasant Valley interchange – between the new Liberty Parkway Plaza and Logistics Center and the Claycomo Ford plant.
While the project will be dramatic, it’s just one of several efforts helping Liberty grow its logistics footprint significantly in just the past few months.
At the same meeting in March, the Liberty council also approved Building 3 in the Liberty Commerce Center project to the east, at South Liberty Parkway and Withers Road. The 259,000 sq. ft. building is the sixth building approved of seven planned in the project. The project includes distribution centers for both Amazon and Walgreens, and construction is already underway on the neighboring buildings.
North of the Hallmark Distribution Center, the Liberty Heartland Logistics Center is under construction. This project on 152 acres northeast of the existing Hallmark building will be a 1,600,000 sq. ft. expansion of the Hallmark center, adding or retaining nearly 300 jobs.
