In a partnership with the Liberty and Park Hill school districts, the Northland Center for Advanced Professional Studies (CAPS) will hold a Junior Academy Showcase at the Gladstone Community Center starting at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, June 29. The event is free and open to the public.
The showcase is part of Northland CAPS’ new Junior Academy providing middle school classes with summer projects to teach professionalism, career exploration and work on a real project for an area business.
This year, the project is with the Kansas City Aviation Department at Kansas City International Airport and focuses on land usage at the facility. Nearly 20 groups of students have been working on the project throughout the month of June.
During the showcase, middle school students will present their ideas to the KC Aviation Department staff, parents, educators, and members of the community who attend.
