North Kansas City is getting more interest in its growing entertainment attractions.
The latest is a “Zip Trip” feature from Fox4 television, which delved into the numerous and diverse offerings by this Clay County community of approximately 5,000 people.
The article by Pat McGonigle noted 110 years of Northtown history, including recent developments like the conversion of scores of old brick buildings into restaurants, offices and meeting space. Also included are street names like Armour, Swift and Burlington that are not accidents. Over a century ago, these companies partnered with Willard Winner to found the community and build the nearby ASB Bridge.
Other developments included the 1913 launch of the North Kansas City School District and construction of a levee protecting the new city from Missouri River flooding.
