Forbes has listed North Kansas City Hospital and Meritas Health as the 54th top employer in Missouri. This honor comes on the heels of Forbes naming NKCH one of America’s Best Midsize Employers and a top midsize hospital and health system in the Kansas City area in February.
“I am proud we ranked among Missouri’s best employers,” said Stephen Reintjes Sr., MD, president and CEO of NKCH and MH. “From environmental services, food and nutrition, to nursing and laboratory, and everything in-between, we are one team with one mission – to provide hope and healing to every life we touch.”
The award, presented by Forbes and Statista Inc., is based on a survey of 70,000 Americans working for companies with more than 500 employees across 25 industry sectors. In the survey, employees were asked to:
• Rate their willingness to recommend their employers to friends and family
• Evaluate other employers in their respective industries and states that stood out either positively or negatively
“We are committed to investing in our employees,” said Dawn Bryant, vice president of human resources. “In addition to offering competitive salary and benefits packages and opportunities for advancement, we continue to build on a culture of respect, diversity and empowerment. We exemplify our new employee orientation theme – Great Happens Here.”
Only 1,382 employers made the entire list of 50 states, plus the District of Columbia. Employees were also asked 52 questions about their current employers, including company image, diversity, potential for development, salary and working conditions.
