EDC members who enjoy networking and improving their community can do both and much more through one of the organization’s committees. Here’s a quick rundown of the groups and their primary focus:
Civic and Legislative Affairs Committee: This committee monitors and promotes legislation that maximizes economic well-being and opportunities in Clay County. It meets on the third Tuesday of every month, from 7:30-8:30 a.m.
Events and Membership: Formed to promote the benefits of EDC membership and plan networking events, this committee also designs and directs annual events like the Look North Leadership Dinner and the Keystone Recognition Awards. Meeting times to be determined.
Northland Education & Business Alliance: NEBA members promote partnerships between business and education to help create a world-class workforce in the Northland. This group meets the first Tuesday of every month from 11:30 am-1 pm. Lunch is provided.
Quality Of Life Committee: The goal of this committee is to enhance business and employment in Clay County by promoting quality-of-life resources. The Trails Group is a subcommittee of this group. The Quality of Life Committee meets the second Wednesday of each month from 3:30-4:30 pm.
EDC members may join a committee at any time. Note that some meeting days and times change, so call (816) 468-4989 to confirm. Members are welcome to attend a committee on a trial basis. Committee signup is also available online at this link.
