For the second consecutive year, North Kansas City Hospital and Meritas Health have been named leaders in a Forbes online magazine recognition.
In a recent news release, the hospital announced that Forbes ranked NKC as the top midsize hospital and health system in the Kansas City area and the 182nd midsize company in the nation.
“It is an honor to be considered among the best employers in the country,” said Stephen Reintjes Sr., MD, president and CEO of North Kansas City Hospital and Meritas Health. “To debut in the top 200 speaks to our commitment to create a work environment that allows our staff to provide the best care possible for our patients.”
This is the first time NKCH has been ranked on the national best employer list. Forbes previously ranked the hospital among the best employers in Missouri in 2021 and 2020. The awards list can be viewed on Forbes’ website.
Forbes and Statista selected the America’s Best Employers 2022 through an independent survey involving 60,000 employees working for companies with more than 1,000 employees. The evaluation was based on direct and indirect recommendations from employees who were asked to rate their willingness to recommend their own employers to friends and family.
Employee evaluations also included other employers in their respective industries that stood out either positively or negatively. Across 25 industry sectors, 1,000 employers received the honor, 500 large employers and 500 midsize employers.
“We are committed to be an Employer of Choice. Being recognized in this way makes us stand out to those looking to be a part of a quality healthcare organization,” said Dawn Bryant, vice president, human resources.
