Darren Bass has been named the new CEO of Saint Luke’s North Hospital.
Bass, DPT, FACHE, has most recently served as president of Cox Monett Hospital and president of the Missouri Hospital Association’s Southwest District Council. He started his new leadership role April 24.
Besides his leadership at Cox Monett Hospital, he held positions in rehabilitation with his clinical background. He earned his bachelor’s degree in biology from Drury College in Springfield, and his master’s degree and Doctor of Physical Therapy from Washington University in St. Louis.
Under Bass’ leadership, Cox Monett announced plans to build a new $42 million-dollar hospital. The hospital was also named one of the best places to work in healthcare by Modern Healthcare for two consecutive years. He oversaw opening of an urgent care clinic that earned five stars for patient experience by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. He guided the hospital in achieving Level IV Stroke and STEMI designation by the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services.
Bass worked with Cox Monett for nearly 20 years. He began his career in health care as a physical therapist at Cox Monett Rehab and Sports Medicine. In 2012, Bass joined the hospital’s senior leader team, and two years later was named executive director. In 2015, he was selected to lead the hospital.
He and his wife, Kari, have two grown children, Tyler and Lauren.
