Weather Ready to Turn: When’s the last time you attended a local high school sporting event? The weather is perfect this weekend for the outdoors and always just right inside an auditorium. Consider clicking on your alma mater or the local school below and have a fun night of cheap entertainment.

Health Director to Retire: Clay County Director of Public Health, Gary Zaborac,is retiring after leading the Public Health Center for the past 20 years. Gary’s twenty years of service as health director mark the longest term of service by any director in CCPHC’s 70-year history. Gary will continue serving in his role through December 31, 2023. A celebration of Director Zaborac’s career will take place at Clay County Public Health Center on Thursday, Dec. 14 from 4-5:30 p.m. All are welcome to attend. For more information click here.

NKCSD Mock Interviews: The North Kansas City School District is looking for volunteers to create some spare time to help their students to improve their interview skills. The interviews will be December 6th but the registration deadline is November 3rd. You can get more information here. You may register here.

Manufacturing Bootcamp: Missouri Enterprise in conjunction with the North Kansas City Business Council are presenting a four-day frontline leadership bootcamp. The Frontline Leader Development program is a four-session bootcamp designed to develop frontline workers into frontline leaders. This bootcamp takes you through the Foundation of Communication, helping leaders recognize the role of emotional intelligence, engaging the ‘head’ and the ‘heart’ to build and retain your workforce. For more information or to register email Jennifer at jennifer@nkcbusinesscouncil.com.

North Kansas City Hospital Wired: The College of Healthcare InformationManagement Executives (CHIME) has released its Digital Health Most Wired Survey results for 2023 and certified North Kansas City Hospital and Meritas Health Level 9 achievement for Acute Care and Ambulatory Care. CHIME surveyed more than 55,000 healthcare facilities and has recognized NKCH and MH as a Most Wired organization for over a decade. Read more here.

Jewell Innovation: A significant financial gift to William Jewell College from alumni Mark and Karen Mathes and their family will fund the new Mathes Innovation Center opening on campus this month. This unique, full-service Center supports students and local founders from the moment of their business proposal through the investment process. Members will gain business and technological acumen while immersed in Jewell’s culture of critical thought and inquiry. Center staff will curate interested investors on behalf of the Mathes Innovation Centers’ members to create a true one stop shop. Read more here.

Coffee Connect: This Wednesday we will gather at iWerx, 1520 Clay in North Kansas City. Nic Termini of ActionCOACH will tell us how he helps develop driven and energetic entrepreneurs and leaders so they can increase profits. Networking begins at 7:45 with the presentation at 8.

Our Mid-Continent Public Libraries offer many classes including the Square One courses on how to operate a business. The website offers many opportunities, both virtual and in-person.
