Liberty Hospital has announced plans to partner with the University of Kansas Health System.
Liberty Hospital stated in a news release that the announcement follows eight months of analysis and discussion. The agreement calls for the two organizations to next finalize a nonbinding Letter of Intent (LOI) to create a “a strong partnership and begin all remaining due diligence to reach a final agreement.”
The Kansas University Health System (KU) is annually rated as one of the top medical centers in the region, and Liberty Hospital is one of the largest medical centers in Northwest Missouri. With Clay and Platte counties among the fastest growing in Missouri, KU saw an opportunity to extend its footprint into Missouri. As a teaching institution, KU brings opportunities for Liberty Hospital, as well as its large staff and infrastructure.
