Liberty Lands TAB Group: TAB Group, an international manufacturer of industrial batteries, will bring a $15 million capital investment and 50 jobs to 66,700 square feet in the Liberty Heartland Logistics Center. The location will be in one of the OPUS Group buildings that won a Keystone Award from your EDC. Congratulations to the City of Liberty, the Liberty Economic Development Corporation and the Kansas City Area Development Corporation who provided the lead. Catered Breakfast Fundraiser: Come and join your EDC for breakfast at the Northland Career Center as we raise money for the new Northland Workforce Development Center. The event, catered by the culinary arts students, will be February 6th at 8AM at the NCC located at 1801 Branch Street in Platte City. NKCSD Workforce Development: The North Kansas City School District is still seeking speakers for their Leadership Institute February 24th from 10AM until 1:15PM. Liberty North Workforce Development: Liberty Public Schools’ North Nation by Design will host mock interviews for their high school students at Liberty North High School on Wednesday, March 13 from 9:00 am – 11:00 am. They need your help and expertise! With over 120 students expected to participate, they are hoping to gather as many interviewers as possible. They will provide you with all the information you need to interview when you arrive, so there is no preparation needed on your part. During this same time, they will also host job interviews for any local companies looking to hire high school students. Literary Love: Our friends at the Mid-Continent Public Library are sponsoring a winter reading challenge January 15th through March 15th. The goal is to read five books in this period. While the project suggests celebrating romance in bloom as the theme, any books will do. For more information click here.

The Comprehensive Plan is a long-range document that guides the County’s future growth and development, its priorities and its services. Puzzles For Inmates: Busy inmates are safe inmates, which is why the Clay County Sheriff’s Office is collecting card games and jigsaw puzzles for the Detention Center throughout the month of January. “The community responded so overwhelmingly to the first-ever paperback book and puzzle drive we did for the jail in January 2022, that when new needs arose, we decided to ask them for help again,” Sheriff Will Akin said. Items can be dropped off any time in the Sheriff’s Office lobby at 12 S. Water Street, Liberty, Mo., through Jan. 31. Any organization or business that also would like to serve as a drop-off location can contact them.
